R.C.Owens prepared this delicious dessert on our television show “The ShortCut Cook”. It’s made a lasting memory for my family. They can’t wait to gobble up his famous cookies.
This is a perfect compliment to this month’s special season. It’s the Holidays, so get ready to shape, make and bake.
“Alley Oop” Holiday Cookies By R.C. Owens
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12oz package chocolate chips
- Options: nuts, peanut butter morsels, candied fruits
- Mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, butter and eggs.
- Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly mix into egg mixture.
- Add vanilla. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Shape into 1” balls and place on greased cookie sheet.
- Place in the oven and bake for about 12 minutes. It’s hot, carefully check for doneness. Should be firm.
