Meet the Farahbakhsh Family:

“Kindness, inclusion, respect above all else”

Torrey and Bejan met through their sisters, who were friends. They started dating in 1992. “One of our sweetest memories is when I graduated from cosmetology school,” says Torrey. “That weekend Bejan asked my parents’ permission to marry me. Bright and early the next morning, Bejan asked to take me for a walk on the beach, he got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him and the rest is history.” They married in November 2000 and just celebrated their 20th anniversary.

Both Torrey and Bejan attended Chabot College in Hayward, CA. Torrey went on to pursue a modeling career, which allowed her to travel all over the world for about 15 years. She later attended the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA where she earned her license in cosmetology.

Bejan went onto own and operate many Arco AM PM gas stations. Over his 25 years in the business he has built gas stations from the ground up, done major remodels and won franchise of the year. He currently manages 16 gas stations for Arco AM PM and enjoys team building, providing a wonderful customer experience and running top performing stations. The hard-working Bejan also recently began an new venture as a co-owner of a cannabis beverage company called Spacestation. Spacestation currently manufactures some of the top cannabis brands in California. He believes cannabis infused beverages will play a big role in the cannabis industry.

The Farahbakhsh family includes three children who have all attended Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek.

The oldest, Javad, is 19. The family moved from Roseville to Walnut Creek when he was 5. After attending Seven Hills through 8th grade, he graduated from De La Salle High School and now attends St. Mary’s College in Moraga. You can also find Javad helping shoppers at our local Whole Foods Market where he has worked since 2019.

Kaveh, 15, is a sophomore at De La Salle High School. He loves to bake, some of his specialties being Key Lime Pie and Coconut Cake. He also enjoys bike riding and spending time with family and friends.

Bella is 11 and in 6th grade at the Seven Hills School. She enjoys fashion and sewing, painting and watching shows on Nexflix.

A crew of 3 dogs rounds out the Farahbakhsh family. Biscuit, an 8-year-old Bichon Frise, is the head of the pack, acting as the fierce protector of all. Toby is a 6-year-old Cockapoo who loves to cuddle, and Daisy, a 1 ½-year-old Teacup Yorkie, is a sweet young lady with a big appetite. “She can eat her two older brothers under the table,” says Torrey.

The Farahbakhsh family has lived in the Rancho Paraiso neighborhood for 10 years. “We have always loved this neighborhood,” says Torrey. “Before we lived here we would drive up Arbolado Drive and hope to one day buy a home up here to raise our family ….We love the beauty that comes with living in this community, the open spaces, the peace and quiet, and beautiful Mt. Diablo. We feel incredibly blessed to live in such a beautiful place surrounded by nature. We have great neighbors, and we look out for one another.”

They enjoy annual family vacations each summer. Last year’s planned trip to Bora Bora was cancelled due to the pandemic. But in 2019 they had a 3-week trip to Istanbul, the Greek islands and Rome. This year they hope to be able to travel to Dubai. They enjoy experiencing different cultures and love to visit new and exciting places.

The Farahbakhsh family puts inclusion and respect above all else. They teach their children “that love always wins and to always carry kindness in your heart.” During this challenging past year, this is a message we can all agree with. They are eager to get to know more families and build a stronger community. Take time to say hello when you see them in the neighborhood.
